Primarily for measuring the internal temperature of what you are baking or cooking. The probe is pointed, making it easy to measure the internal temperature of baked and cooked items.

The Omnia thermometer can also be easily attached to the lid's hole with a supplied locking screw. Keep in mind that the temperature measured will be in the upper part of the oven. The temperature in the lower part is higher. A thermometer in the lid alters the balance. Be careful when lifting the lid.
