The wiring kit is used when installing a towbar to connect the vehicle's electrical system to the lighting on a trailer or bike carrier. It is also required for many chassis-mounted bike carriers to connect the lighting to a light bar.
The wiring kit does not have a permanent positive connection. This means that the cable only receives power when the ignition is switched on or when the engine is started. This makes it a practical solution for the specified motorhome applications.
